Maths and reading blog


WALT find grid references
SC:
  • Find the appropriate letter
  • Find the appropriate number
  • Find the place where the letter and number intersect

We had to complete the task by finding the letter along the bottom line and the number on the line going up. Go across both lines and find the object in the intersecting square. Write the grid references with letter then the number.

Reading:

WALT synthesise ideas

SC:
  • List prior knowledge
  • Read the text
  • List new knowledge
  • Combine prior knowledge and new information

Teacher will introduce the topic and students need to list all the prior knowledge they have about that topic.

Teacher will guide the students reading over a few pages and students will need to list their new information.

Students will then need to combine their prior knowledge with the new information they found to come up with a sentence or two of new understanding.

SRA Cards.

This task was simple, But I found skimming and scanning through the text a little hard because the keyword I was looking for was being used often . But This task was simple and made me work and think harder.Image result for sra cards

Maths

This Lesson I learnt how to Use in the Inputs and the Outputs. This task was very simple only because I had to do what it told me to do in the boxes.  I found this easy to do, especially when I had to make my own rule

Look at each pattern
Draw the next 2 diagrams in the pattern by continuing the pattern
List the number of dots
Maths:
I had to complete the task by identifying the pattern of the shapes and the amount of dots used. Then I had to continue the pattern by increasing the number of dots used in sequence.

Discuss what type of question each is
Categories questions

READING:
Today we were working with the teacher. We had to read the text and than choose what type of a question it is.

People in your class have been have swapping passwords and signing in to other people’s accounts and sending nasty emails to each other. It seemed funny at first but now some people are getting upset. Your best friend asks you what your password is... What do you do?
